Faithful Through the Changes

After 3 years and 3 months of volunteering on a weekly basis at a local Pregnancy Center, the Lord made it clear to me that my season there was ending. Last week, I had my last day, which is quite bittersweet. I'm reflecting on my time there and thankful for the lifelong lessons the Lord taught me and for the wonderful people I've met.

One of those people is my amazing nurse friend, Amanda, who is a kindred spirit and now considered one of my closest friends.

Here we are on my last day at the Center

She is truly a gem... Her heart for the Lord, how she makes me laugh hysterically, how she loves Lily right along with me and has always made me feel comfortable to share openly about her as well as about other things, her stories, her attention to detail and the things I like/the things that remind me of Lily (for instance, she gave me cat gifts on my last day (including a mug because I love hot beverages and collect mugs) in a butterfly bag and brought mini red-velvet cupcakes).

She has a beautiful heart for the unborn, encourages and supports me, and shares her wisdom in being a godly wife and mother. Through all these things, I have been inspired by and learned so much from her. She was even the first person who scanned my niece when she was just a wee one in the womb. :)

My time at the Pregnancy Center in this season has ended (doesn't mean I won't be involved again at a Center in the future). The Lord has led me to a new opportunity, with an internship at a maternity home for young girls and women facing an unplanned pregnancy. That will officially start at the end of August and will last through December. After weeks of praying, waiting, and multiple steps, I got official confirmation from both my University and the internship site that it has been approved. I am looking forward to a fresh experience and learning and growing in new ways in the Lord. This is my last step towards getting my degree. I know the Lord will continue to guide me step-by-step. He has always led me at the moment I need His guiding. He certainly can build our faith in the unknown and the waiting. Great is His faithfulness!

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." -Proverbs 3:5-6

Change can be hard, but there's no place I'd rather be than in the center of God's will. I'm excited to see what He holds for the future.
