I better make it good.
I had planned on creating a scrapbook to document each year of her life. But, I didn't even get one full year with her. I'll post pictures to show the progress. The first few pages I'm going to be working on are the pictures from the hospital. Then, I'll move on to pregnancy photos and baby shower photos, all the things that celebrate Lily's life. I'm so excited about my new project! And I think it's a good thing for me to do now, around my 21st birthday on August 12th. It's going to be a rough month in August because Lily should be here, going to the beach to celebrate her mommy's birthday, wearing her adorable pink dress that is hanging in her closet untouched. This scrapbook should help a lot. I'm ready to see the finished product, but I almost don't want it to end. I'm saying that and I haven't even officially started it yet.
i'm so glad. i found so much healing in working on kenny's scrapbook, even though i would have much rather made him an actual baby book, documenting his first year of life. enjoy it. treasure the time you spend working on this. and then i hope you'll have many, many opportunities to show it off!
ReplyDeleteI never scrap booked before, but I do now with memories and photos of Emma and Chase. It brings me joy creating those books. I am sure you are excited to start your book.
ReplyDeletePS You share the same birthday as my sweet angels.
xx
I have a scrapbook that I have yet to start. I intend on putting pictures from the hospital, the pictures we have of Bailey, cards we received, and all the memorial photos we have gotten for her. I also plan on putting every pictures from "Project 365" in there.
ReplyDeleteNow to get the motivation to start. I think I'm scared to start...because I know when I'm done with it, it's just that...it's done. It's over, it's final...and that scares me.
Some very, very sweet friends made us such a lovely, lovely scrapbook after Matthew died....they came over, got a disc with ALL the pictures we'd taken for nine months, took more pictures, put them together, took things from my blog and put them in....truly, just a wonderful, wonderful labor of love. I just adore it and treasure it.
ReplyDeleteDoing one for your Lily will probably be kind of like a memorial...hard, but healing, and you will treasure it for a lifetime. Can't wait to see the progress!!
Lots of xoxoxoxo!
How exciting!!! I can't wait to see how it'll turn out. It helps so much to do something, I can feel the excitement in your words :)
